Our history

1955

Le Havre, heavily bombed in September 1944, had its city and its port severely bruised. The city, immediately after the Second World War, carried out a vast construction project. Both innovative in design, it is also strongly constrained by material shortages.

Raoult Dautry, Minister of Reconstruction and Town Planning entrusts, in the spring of 1945 to the architect Auguste Perret, the mission to rebuild the Cité Océane, founded a few centuries earlier (October 8, 1517) by François Ier, King of France.

This vast reconstruction site is today part of the identity of the city and its citizens. The heart of the city, remarkable for its homogeneity and its state of conservation, was classified in 2005 as World Heritage by UNESCO.

We suggest that you go back to 1955 and climb aboard a no less legendary car. This year, Renault Billancourt, the popular 4cv, came out of the factories.

Louise, registered in 1955, in a competitive state, invites you to follow in the footsteps of an era that arouses nostalgia for some and discovery for others.
